Bushido, the magazine that Robert Benson and Elton K. Ericson started to publish in 1979, lasted only 9 numbers but what an achievement it was. Each magazine contains interesting articles on armour, nihonto, tōsōgu and budō. I have only but admiration for what they accomplished in an age where it was quite hard (and expensive) to publish a partially color magazine.

Very nice catalog from an exhibition in 1997 in Hiroshima castle about the Mōri (毛利) clan. With also nice pictures of several beautiful akodanari kabuto and interesting complete armour sets.

Thin but beautiful catalog from an exhibition in 1994 in the former Galerie Robert Burawoy. As usual with books from Mr. Burawoy, it has a special form factor, but the photography and items are very nice. You will recognize items that became quite famous later on (and expensive…).
This famous large format book is based on a Japanese armour exhibition that was held in the Kyōto National Museum in 1987. The large photos are excellent.
There is a much smaller (and much cheaper) catalog of the same exhibition also.
