Title: Armures du Japon (20 mai - 18 juin 1994) Author: Robert Burawoy Publisher: Galerie Robert Burawoy, 1994 ISBN: None Language: French Illustrations: Color and black and white pictures Other: 15 pages, 32 cm by 32 cm, soft cover Topics:Bagu, Kabuto, Katchū, Menpō, Sōmen, Tōsōgu ID: B0031
Thin but beautiful catalog from an exhibition in 1994 in the former Galerie Robert Burawoy. As usual with books from Mr. Burawoy, it has a special form factor, but the photography and items are very nice. You will recognize items that became quite famous later on (and expensive…).

A nice and very unique presentation of Japanese swords. Mr. Burawoy has several nice publications from his (former) gallery, with a unique form factor.
Limited to 600.
A very beautiful book about the large collection of national treasures and juyo bunkazai items in the Ōyamazumi shrine. Of several armours, there is also an additional picture from the back. There are a few smaller and cheaper catalogs also.
The shrine is difficult to reach but a must for people who like the old armours.
This volume is part of another beautiful series, this time about Japanese national treasures. Contains beautiful pictures, also about ceramics, textiles, offerings to shinto shrines.

Gorgeous book about what was considered the best western collection of swords in the west, before it was auctioned after the death of Mr. Compton. Beautiful photography. Also worthwhile are the three auction catalogs and a book about an exhibition of part of the collection.
This is a beautiful book published by the Tōkyō National Museum after the big 1976 exhibition.
Mostly old armours, swords, koshirae etc.
The sode on the cover are from my all time favorite dōmaru in the National Museum.

This is part 21 of a 30 volume book series. In a later edition, the series was extended to 32, and this volume became nr. 25. Content is identical as far as I can tell.
Beautiful color pictures, mostly from old armour and swords.
This is part 26 of a 30 volume book series on jūyō bunkazai pieces, about half of them armour. Many pictures, although mostly rather small. Focuses mainly on armours from Heian till Muromachi. Very interesting to see an overview of the jūyō bunkazai armour pieces.

This beautiful book is part of a 10 volume set that focuses on Japanese art in Western collections. This part does not contain much armour, but has some of the best pictures available of the famous ō-yoroi in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
